A few years ago, I was telling an owner what her dog told me in the course of the conversation that I had had earlier with her beloved pet. I went through all of the questions that she had me ask “Pinky”. The owner listened intently, but I could tell she wasn’t really sure that I had actually spoken to her dog. Even though a lot of it made sense to her, she sounded like she needed absolute proof.
It wasn’t until I asked the owner about moving furniture that I heard her take a deep breath…….I said….”Pinky is telling me that she really doesn’t like what you did with the stuff in the house. She says that she likes the stuff the old way and doesn’t understand why you moved everything. Also, why did you put her bed in that corner? She likes it where it was before.”
In a very quiet voice, the woman at the other end of the line said to me…”how did you know that I moved the furniture around? Who told you?” I said ..”Pinky told me…she watched you move everything and wondered what was going on.” Suddenly this woman had the proof she needed……I really did have a conversation with her Pinky. She was now a believer…..
Pinky would have said to me ….”why was mama so surprised that I told you about moving my bed and the other stuff? I was right there when she did it!” Animals assume we know that they can talk to us…they just need someone to “interpret” what they’re thinking and saying. Once they have that “interpreter”, they have no reason to doubt that their humans will understand and accept that what is being said to them is real. After all, they listen to us everyday and believe that what we say and do is real.
A lot of other animals have told me things over the years that have surprised their humans…….I love this part of animal communication…..revealing to owners what their beloved pets are seeing, hearing and thinking while sitting in their kennels, baskets and beds. They look like they’re minding their own business, not really paying attention to us. Little do we know……..
Blessings to you and your beloved animals,
