It always amazes me how much we humans love our pets. We feed them, brush them, cuddle with them, buy toys and beds for them, walk them and at times even discipline them. Lots of us consider our pet/pets to be a part of our family. And if we had to think of our lives without them in it, we might find it hard to fathom……
Our pets have intertwined themselves into every aspect of our lives and our hearts. We think about them when we’re away from home, we talk about them with our friends and family, we smile and feel lighthearted when we think of their antics. Our pets bring us out of ourselves and our worries and concerns. Since animals live in the moment, we are forced to confront where we spend most of our time….and if it’s any place but in the time and space in front of us, we are missing out on enjoying our lives as they unfold.
The one common question that humans have about their pets is…”does my pet love me?” So, when communicating with animals, I ask them to tell me what they think about their families. The response is always…..”I love them so much.” This is generally said with warmth and affection. Animals are sometimes taken aback when I ask this question……after all, they show us everyday by their actions how much they love us. They look at us with adoring eyes, they lay their heads on our laps when we feel lonely, they sit by us when we’re having a hard day and they rejoice with us when something good has happened. Our pets even remain faithful to us when we push them away. How else can they show us how they feel?
Our pets tell us every day how much they love us. It’s spoken in their very plain, simple language…their actions. There’s nothing complicated or fake about it……it’s pure and it’s real.
Blessings to you and your furry friends,
