Talking to a dog is extremely different than talking to a cat. Dogs will greet you with “I heard you were coming, I’m so glad you’re here.” Cats will say ” I’ve been waiting and waiting, what took you so long?”
Dogs are more concerned with how they fit into their household and into their human’s life. They also want to make sure their human knows how much they love and appreciate them. Cats want to know how their humans can adapt to what they want. While they love and appreciate their humans, they love and appreciate themselves more.
While dogs are sorry for something they’ve done wrong, cats will find anyone they can to blame for a mishap, including you. Many dogs will express excitement about a new trick learned. They love having their humans praise them for their accomplishments. Cats on the other hand don’t care. They assume their humans (and everyone else) love them for who they are, just as they are. They don’t need to do ANYTHING to become more endearing to us.
There are some exceptions to these rules. But generally, dogs and cats will fit into these two categories.
Many blessings to you and yours,
