Dogs are natural actors! They are masters at using their bodies and facial expressions to communicate with you telepathically. They are also expert mimes, capable of performing a vast repertoire of deceptively simple routines to subtly get their points across.
Some of these communications are universal, like nosing the dog dish to indicate hunger, waiting right next to the car when you are packing to go for a trip, or sitting by the treats drawer after going outside for a potty break.Other behaviors are specific to your individual dog. For example, my friend Catherine’s Standard Poodle Jolie will toss her head in the air and give this playful growl when she wants a fresh bowl of cool water. It’s very fun to watch! It’s like Jolie is really talking and Catherine knows exactly what to do for her.
Many dog owners are content to communicate with their pets solely on this behavioral level. But imagine how delightful it would be if, you were able to really know what is going on for them.
All animals have something to say; it’s just a matter of having someone connect with them on that deeper, non-verbal way that helps us understand them better! For now, let me help you with that communication.
